After an excellent spring season of training and conditioning, the VMI women’s soccer team revealed its 2023 fall slate May 2, 2023.
The Keydets begin the season in mid-August with an exhibition at the College of William & Mary before the regular season begins at home versus Robert Morris University Aug. 17. VMI closes out the opening month with two home contests (UNC – Asheville and Winthrop) to accompany a pair of road games at Delaware State and Big South foe Campbell.
The month of September opens with two away contests at USC Upstate and at Gardner-Webb. VMI then kicks off a four-game homestand, beginning with LIU Sept. 10, Longwood Sept. 14, and Liberty Sept. 17, before starting Southern Conference play with Wofford College Sept. 21 at Patchin Field. The Keydets finish the month with league games at ETSU Sept. 24 and Samford Sept. 28.
VMI will face rival The Citadel at home Oct. 1 before facing the Mercer Bears a few days later in Lexington. Following a quick road trip to Chattanooga Oct. 8, the Keydets will play host to Furman for their home finale Oct. 12. The Keydets conclude the regular season on the road with games at Western Carolina Oct. 15 and at UNCG a week later.
The 2023 Southern Conference Tournament opening round will occur Oct. 24.
