Track and Field Reunion
VMI track and field alumni gather in Moody Hall for the VMI Men’s and Women’s Track and Field Reunion Feb. 24, 2024.
Sixty-five alumni from the Classes of 1967-2019 returned to post for the VMI Men’s and Women’s Track and Field Reunion Feb. 24, 2024.
Alumni reconnected with each other and the program as they met the coaching staff and current cadet-athletes in Moody Hall for an evening meal amid the Southern Conference Indoor Track and Field Championship held at the Corps Physical Training Facility Feb. 24–25.
At the dinner were six cadet-athletes from the men’s and women’s teams and the entire track coaching staff, including Zack Scott ’89, VMI track and field director. During the evening, Gene Scott ’80 and Joey Keyes ’82 shared their VMI journeys and the importance of the Keydet Club’s support to VMI athletics.
“It was fantastic to have our track and field alumni back on post to reconnect and to witness the energy they brought to the program and the SoCon Indoor Track and Field Championships,” said Andrew Deal ’12, VMI Keydet Club chief operating officer and Alumni Agencies chief development officer. “Alumni were able to meet new faces, reconnect with past teammates, and get to know our coaching staff and current cadet-athletes. I am also thankful for the stories shared by Gene [’80] and Joey [’82] about the power of philanthropy and the opportunity we all have to make a difference at VMI.”

The assistant editor assists the editor-in-chief in various tasks relating to the production of quarterly and monthly publications, as well as prepares written materials for publication. The assistant editor serves as liaison between class agents and chapter presidents and the Agencies’ publications, as well as provides backup photography for events.
