The VMI Alumni Association Board of Directors meeting, in conjunction with the Annual Meeting of its Members, will be held May 6, 2023, beginning at 8 a.m. in the Moody Hall Activities Room, located on the Virginia Military Institute post.
Doors will open at 7:30 a.m., and eligible members will be asked to certify their status to gain entry. No visitors outside VMI alumni in good standing and the staff to support the meeting will be admitted. Guests may wait outside of the meeting in the upstairs lounge and in the Mary Moody Northern Library.
During the Annual Members’ Meeting, which will occur following the Board of Directors meeting, recommended slates by the Alumni Association Nominating Committee will be voted on.
The work of the Nominating Committee is extensive. In developing the slates, the committee utilizes the criterion for nomination that is posted on the VMI Alumni Agencies website; the level of past engagement, experience, and familiarity with the VMI Alumni Agencies; and the recommendation of the Foundation and the Keydet Club.
During the nomination process, we acknowledged two incumbent Directors At Large whose experience and ability to continue to serve merits their reappointment. The nominees for Regional Directors reflect the long-standing practice of working with the chapter presidents in the regions to fill those slots.
The list of submitted nominees will be maintained and reviewed for future opportunities to become involved in the volunteer leadership of the Alumni Association.
