Keydets Fall in Close 3-2 Battle Against Navy

Despite scoring first and going into halftime tied up at 1-1, the VMI women’s soccer team fell by a 3-2 score to host Navy at Glenn Warner Soccer Facility in Annapolis, Maryland, Sept. 8, 2024.

Riley Boucher ’26 struck first in the 24th minute (23:53) when she played a loose ball and snuck behind the Navy defense to strike the ball into the lower right corner of the net for the first goal of the game. The Sicklerville, New Jersey, native scored for the fourth consecutive game and now has four on the season to lead the Keydets.

Game Summary

  • Navy’s Lauren Toms equalized moments later in the 32nd minute (31:00) off a header from a corner kick as the teams went into halftime tied at 1-1.
