David Prasnicki Chief Executive Officer
The Chief Executive Officer reports to the Alumni Agencies Board, and is responsible for all operations and functions of the VMI Alumni Association, the VMI Foundation, and the VMI Keydet Club. The CEO has primary responsibility for building and strengthening relationships with the Institute’s diverse constituencies, and for the development and implementation of a coordinated program of philanthropic support from a variety of sources.
Crissy Elliott Chief Financial Officer
The Chief Financial Officer serves as a true business partner to the CEO of the Alumni Agencies and well as to the other agency heads. The CFO is responsible for engaging the board finance, audit, and investment committees around issues, trends, and changes in the operating mode(s) and operational delivery. The CFO works to develop tools and systems that provide critical financial and operational information to the CEO and make actionable recommendations on both strategy and operations. The CFO is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Accounting Department, Switchboard and Mail Center. The CFO also manages personnel policies, the compensation committee and audit committee. The CFO reports directly to the CEO.
Meade King '85 Chief Operating Officer, VMI Foundation; Director of Advancement
The primary goal of the VMI Foundation chief operating officer and director of advancement is to raise and steward the funds entrusted to it for the sole purpose of advancing the Virginia Military Institute. With this private money, the VMI Foundation supports constant improvement of academic and co-curricular programs. The COO reports to the VMI Alumni Agencies CEO and also supports the president of the VMI Foundation Board of Trustees. The COO works closely with VMI leadership and across the VMI Alumni Agencies to develop and execute programs consistent with the missions of VMI and the Foundation.
Andrew Deal '12 Chief Operating Officer, VMI Keydet Club; Chief Development Officer
The VMI Keydet Club chief operating officer provides oversight of programs and staff to ensure they meet the goals and objectives of the club’s strategic plan, supports the president of the VMI Keydet Club Board of Governors and is responsible for the formulation of the policies, goals, objectives, and procedures of the Keydet Club. The COO works closely with VMI leadership, VMI athletics, the CFO and across the VMI Alumni Agencies to develop and execute programs consistent with the missions of VMI and the Keydet Club. The COO reports to the VMI Alumni Agencies CEO.
Additionally, as the chief development officer, he is responsible for the comprehensive planning, implementation, management, and oversight of all fundraising.Ed Johnson '79 Chief Operating Officer, VMI Alumni Association
The Chief Operating Officer of the VMI Alumni Association is responsible for the direction of a comprehensive self‐governed Alumni Association of nearly 26,000. The COO reports to the Chief Executive Officer of the VMI Alumni Agencies and also supports the President of the VMI Alumni Association Board of Directors. Responsibilities include formulation of the policies, goals, objectives, programs, and procedures of the Association. The COO provides oversight of Association programs and staff to ensure they meet the goals and objectives of the Association’s strategic plan.
Amy Goetz Chief Communications Officer
The chief communications officer reports to the CEO and is responsible for developing the communication plan for the VMI Alumni Agencies. The CCO has management and oversight responsibility for staff members who focus on developing print, digital and multimedia content to support the communication plan, and organizes and coordinates the design, branding, quality assurance and delivery modes of all strategic communication.
Cheryl Cathcart Director of Human Resources
Under the general direction of the CFO, the director of human resources performs human resources related duties at the professional level including but not limited to employee recruitment/selection, compensation, health insurance reimbursements and implementation of policies and procedures in accordance with the handbook of the VMI Alumni Agencies.
Christina Cummings Director of Advancement Services
The director of advancement services develops and implements high-quality event services for VMI, the Alumni Agencies and the broader community. This position is the lead for strategic leadership, management, guidance and day-to-day oversight for the introduction, promotion, scheduling, planning and production of post and off-site events.
